West Ham ready bid to seal sensational swoop in 2024 amid Man City interest in Lucas Paqueta

According to Fichajes, West Ham is reportedly preparing an offer to secure Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka next summer, amidst interest from various Premier League clubs, potentially leading to a seismic Bundesliga transfer in the upcoming year.

It’s suggested that West Ham is willing to shell out over £43.7 million for the 28-year-old Germany international. Bayern Munich is said to be scouting replacements for Goretzka, hinting at a potential departure.

Amidst these reports, the summer ahead could be significant for East London. Persistent rumors about David Moyes possibly leaving the club as his contract expires at the end of the season have circulated. Tensions behind the scenes between Moyes and new technical director Tim Steidten have been hinted at, with Steidten potentially eyeing Goretzka due to his Bundesliga connections.

However, skepticism arises regarding the credibility of this report. Goretzka’s contract ends next year, granting substantial negotiation power to West Ham. Offering such a substantial amount for the Bayern Munich ace seems premature, especially when clubs typically wield significant leverage in transfer talks with players in the final year of their contracts.

Considering the timing, it appears premature for clubs to line up summer offers, prompting doubts about the legitimacy of the news. If the report had focused on the January transfer window, it might have seemed more plausible.

While Goretzka boasts an impressive career, making nearly 200 appearances for Bayern Munich since his 2018 move from Schalke and earning 55 caps for Germany, executing such a significant transfer midway through a campaign seems unlikely for both West Ham and Bayern Munich.
