“Not Easy for Him” – Celtic’s Top-class star drops another shambolic display at Internationals

November 17, 2023

Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-Gyu, despite a recent goal-scoring spree at club level, continues to face frustration on the international stage, remaining goalless in his appearances for South Korea.

Following his goal-scoring exploits in Celtic’s dominant 6-0 victory over Aberdeen, Oh Hyeon-Gyu hoped to carry that form into South Korea’s World Cup qualification match against Singapore. However, despite his typical drive and effort during his 20-minute cameo, Oh couldn’t find the back of the net in the 5-0 win, leaving him disappointed.

Expressing his sentiments about the goal drought for his national team, Oh acknowledged his hunger for goals, highlighting the challenges an attacker faces when opportunities don’t materialize as expected.

While Oh has showcased his abilities with impactful performances for Celtic, both as a substitute and a starting player, he remains resolute in his determination to contribute positively, despite being utilized similarly at the national level.

Despite his readiness and confidence in his abilities, Celtic is reportedly eyeing another talent from the Far East, with Nurnberg’s Japanese playmaker Kanji Okunuki catching their attention as a potential addition in the upcoming transfer window.
