Three Kyogo replacements for Celtic if they sell him for £20m

November 19, 2023

Celtic faced significant departures at the end of the 2022/23 season, losing their manager and several key players, such as Jota, Carl Starfelt, and Aaron Mooy. The potential departure of Kyogo Furuhashi has also raised concerns, with Union Berlin and Brentford reportedly eyeing the striker.

If Kyogo does leave, Celtic may need a replacement in January. Here are three potential targets:

  1. Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby: Despite previous interest, Celtic could consider reviving their pursuit of the promising 21-year-old forward, who showed promise towards the end of the 2022/23 season.
  2. Sydney van Hooijdonk from Bologna: The son of former Celtic striker Pierre van Hooijdonk, Sydney, has been linked with a potential move away from Bologna. His future beyond January remains uncertain, potentially opening a window for Celtic to pursue him.
  3. Lawrence shakland: While these three are possibilities, Celtic may also explore other options to bolster their attack if Kyogo departs. Keeping an eye on the market for promising talents or experienced strikers could be crucial for the club’s January transfer plans.
