Frank McAvennie thinks it’s a “disgrace” that clubs aren’t afraid to play West Ham United at the London Stadium.

“The assessment is about how ‘open’ the stadium is, and the presence of neutral fans,” says McAvennie.

He added that clubs used to be afraid to play at Upton Park, the club’s old stadium, and that this fear no longer exists at the current stadium.

McAvennie told West Ham Zone: “It’s good, but there are a lot of neutrals there who are not all fans. People hated playing at Upton Park, but people aren’t scared of the London Stadium because it’s open.”

“I would love to see the London Stadium become a soccer stadium. Tottenham and Arsenal have that atmosphere.

Sometimes the London Stadium is chaotic, but the teams are not afraid of it. It’s a shame because the stadium should be a fortress.

The Hammers are currently ninth in the Premier League table, with a total of 17 points from 12 games.

According to the official Premier League X-Account (November 16), they have picked up the most points at the London Stadium, with 10 at home and seven away.

The next game for David Moyes and his players is at Burnley on Saturday, November 25, the first game for both clubs after the international break.
