David Moyes’s West Ham United aims to secure the services of former Chelsea forward Timo Werner, as suggested by TEAMtalk. The report describes West Ham’s interest in bringing Werner from RB Leipzig during the January transfer window.

TEAMtalk has indicated that West Ham intends to pursue a loan deal for the former Chelsea striker, who earns around £200,000 per week. Leipzig is reportedly willing to release the “extremely fast” player, as described by Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, on loan.

The report suggests that West Ham is highly interested in acquiring a new striker mid-season due to injury concerns.

In my opinion, West Ham United should refrain from seeking Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window, even on a loan deal. I believe that Werner may not significantly enhance the Hammers’ attacking prowess.

The German international experienced a challenging period at Chelsea and even upon returning to RB Leipzig, he has not yet reached the form he displayed before his move to Chelsea.

During his time at Chelsea, Werner made 56 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists. In the Bundesliga last season, the 27-year-old forward scored nine goals and offered three assists in 23 starts. In the current season, Werner has two goals from two starting appearances and six substitute outings in the Bundesliga.

Based on these statistics, I perceive that Werner may not be able to seamlessly integrate into West Ham and contribute significantly at the London Stadium.
