Now, speculations hint at Silva preparing for a switch to Scotland in January. Journalist Luca Bendoni posted an update on social media platform X, indicating that “Wolves striker Fabio Silva has accepted a move to Scotland. It will happen on a simple loan until the end of the season. Wolves will earn a small loan fee + the Scottish side will cover Silva’s salary. Told it’s one of Celtic and Rangers.”
Given the financial aspects of the potential deal, Celtic appears capable of affording Silva, especially considering reports of his £42k-per-week salary.
With Celtic already facing a potential loss of players to the Asia Cup, the necessity of adding another striker becomes increasingly crucial, particularly amid upcoming league and cup fixtures in January. Silva’s struggles to make a mark at Wolves since his hefty transfer make a loan move to either Celtic or Rangers an opportunity for him to reignite his goal-scoring prowess, which initially prompted the substantial investment in his services by the English Premier League club.
