Exclusive: Tottenham Explores Three Formulas in Discussions, Submits Offer for Defender

Football Insider sources have revealed that Tottenham are gearing up to present a formal offer for Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, following initial discussions over a potential deal.

The North London club is aggressively pursuing the acquisition of a new centre-back as the transfer window approaches, with the 21-year-old Romania international featuring prominently on their radar.

Tottenham has been actively engaged in talks regarding Dragusin and has explored various options, including permanent, loan, and loan-to-buy arrangements.

While Serie A clubs have unsuccessfully attempted to secure Dragusin on loan, Genoa is insistent on a permanent deal and has rebuffed these loan advances.

Despite interest from Roma, AC Milan, and Atalanta, Tottenham is reportedly poised to take the lead in finalizing the terms of a potential agreement.

The club is bracing to present a formal offer for the player, potentially edging out other interested parties in their pursuit of Dragusin.

Furthermore, with the likelihood of Nice retaining centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo until the summer, Tottenham has shifted its primary focus to securing Dragusin.

Ange Postecoglou has publicly emphasized the imperative of reinforcing the centre-back position in January, following a series of setbacks in that area.

Long-term injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have necessitated the deployment of makeshift options at centre-back, accentuated by the club’s extensive casualty list.

The recent midweek 4-2 defeat to Brighton saw Ben Davies and Emerson Royal, primarily full-backs by trade, filling in at the heart of the defence, underlining the urgency for defensive reinforcements.
