Exclusive: Spurs ready player-plus-cash deal to sign incredible Premier League defender in January

Tottenham is reportedly considering a player-plus-cash offer, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, in a bid to secure the services of defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham in the upcoming January transfer window, as revealed to Tottenham News.

Injuries to Tottenham’s primary center-back pairing, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, have left the team facing significant defensive shortages. Ange Postecoglou, the manager, recently emphasized the importance of signing a new center-back in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a recruitment source associated with Spurs, the club is preparing a player-plus-cash arrangement to acquire Adarabioyo from Fulham, with Hojbjerg being part of the deal. Adarabioyo’s contract at Craven Cottage is set to expire in six months, prompting concerns for Fulham about potentially losing the 26-year-old on a free transfer next summer. The defender has experienced a resurgence after recovering from a groin injury that required surgery and had sidelined him since August, starting in the club’s last five league matches.

It has been suggested that Fulham might be enticed by the offer, owing to their longstanding interest in Hojbjerg, who had declined a potential move to the club last summer. Hojbjerg, who joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2020 for a reported £15 million, has been a pivotal figure for the club under the management of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. Despite making 164 appearances for the club and featuring in all 38 league matches in his debut season, his role has diminished under Postecoglou, with just five starts in all competitions this year. Consequently, the Danish international might seek a departure from Tottenham in pursuit of more consistent first-team playing opportunities.
