Liverpool have rebuffed overtures from Celtic and Rangers for the young left-back Owen Beck following his return from a loan stint with Dundee. The 21-year-old came back to Liverpool after a successful spell in Scotland, featuring in 20 matches across all competitions.

Having been part of Liverpool’s Academy since the age of 13, Beck has already made two senior appearances for the club under Jurgen Klopp in the 2021-22 season. During his time with Dundee in the Scottish Premiership, he showcased his talent, making 17 appearances, scoring twice, and providing two assists.

Statistical website WhoScored rates Beck as the top-performing left-back in the Scottish top flight this season, boasting an average rating of 7.3 across the campaign. His stellar displays caught the eye of both Celtic and Rangers, with both clubs expressing interest in securing his services.

While Celtic sought a permanent deal, Rangers aimed for a loan arrangement, but Liverpool turned down both propositions. This decision hints at Beck’s potential involvement in Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures, including an FA Cup clash with Arsenal and a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final showdown with Fulham.
