Former West Ham star sends message to David Moyes amid reports of sensational comeback to the London Stadium

Former hammer player recently conveyed a brief yet heartfelt message to Thilo Kehrer following the latter’s confirmed departure from West Ham United on Friday, January 5th.

The Hammers officially announced on January 5th that the 27-year-old German international has completed a move to French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco on a six-month loan deal valued at £431,000, with an obligatory purchase clause set at £9.5 million (as reported by Fabrizio Romano on January 4th).

Kehrer, who made 12 appearances this season at the London Stadium, with only four of them as starts, enjoyed popularity within the West Ham dressing room, despite his limited playing time.

In response to the transfer, Hammers forward Benrahma, who has also been linked with a potential move away (as per The Times, January 3rd), took to Instagram on January 5th to extend his well-wishes to the departing German, writing, “All the best my bro.”

While Kehrer’s time at West Ham has been memorable, it’s evident that this deal is the right move for all parties involved. Although Kehrer played a pivotal role in the squad’s success in winning the Europa Conference League last season, he has struggled for substantial playing time this season.

Similarly, Benrahma has encountered frustration due to limited opportunities this campaign. There is a possibility that the Algerian could follow Kehrer to the French Ligue 1, seeking more playing time. Benrahma also missed out on the chance to represent the Algerian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations due to his restricted role at West Ham.

With Kehrer’s exit, it seems that West Ham United fans can anticipate further significant departures from the London Stadium in the upcoming weeks.
