Ange Postecoglou’s squad has kicked off the January window brightly, with RB Leipzig forward expected to undergo medicals and finalize terms for a loan move to Spurs on Sunday. Additionally, discussions with Genoa for Radu Dragusin’s transfer are progressing positively.

Recent reports from Spain suggest that Tottenham is eyeing Sevilla’s defender, Loic Bade, despite his recent permanent move to the Spanish club during the summer.

Bade had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest earlier in the 2022-23 season before being recalled and loaned out to Sevilla. His impressive performances during the loan stint led to a permanent move to Sevilla, where he has become a cornerstone of their defense, making 11 LaLiga appearances and contributing with an assist this term.

Meanwhile, Tottenham is expecting at least one new addition in the imminent days, notably Timo Werner, whose move to the club is nearing completion. Werner was omitted from RB Leipzig’s friendly win over St Gallen, with coach Marco Rose confirming his desire to go on loan to enhance his chances for the European Championships. Talks between Tottenham and Werner accelerated, with negotiations focusing on the structure of the deal, including paying his salary for the rest of the season and an option to buy for around £14.5 million.

Postecoglou sees potential in Werner’s pace and hardworking nature, despite his mixed stint at Chelsea, believing these qualities align well with his tactical plans for the squad.
