Micah Richards weighed in on the potential move of Jordan Henderson to West Ham, amidst the midfielder’s desire to depart Al Ettifaq after a brief stint in Saudi Arabia.

Henderson’s surprising shift from Liverpool to Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window raised eyebrows, with the 33-year-old costing Steven Gerrard’s side £13 million and earning a staggering £350,000 per week in the Kingdom. However, recent developments suggest a rethink on his decision to spend his twilight years in the Saudi Pro League.

Richards, speaking on The Monday Night Club, questioned the necessity for West Ham to pursue Henderson, emphasizing the existing midfield prowess of the team with Alvarez and Ward-Prowse.

“He’s not going to play. They have Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, they are unbelievable in the centre of the park. Henderson is a top player but he’s moved on because his better years are behind him. If he was in the best form of his life, he wouldn’t have gone there,” he expressed.
