Tottenham’s FA Cup Clash Against Manchester City Gets a Major Lift with Key Players Nearing Return!

After a 2-0 victory against Burnley, Spurs gear up to face Pep Guardiola’s City in the upcoming FA Cup fixture set for late January.

Ange’s squad remains one of the rare two teams to have snatched a point from City at Etihad this season.

Injuries have plagued Tottenham throughout the campaign, sidelining crucial figures like Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Ben Davies, and Cristian Romero.

However, a glimmer of hope emerges as several players inch closer to a comeback. Van de Ven is on track to return for the clash against Manchester United, offering a potential boost.

Summer signing Manor Solomon, who’s been out since early October due to a knee injury requiring surgery, is now eyeing a comeback. According to Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, the winger aims to resume first-team training in the upcoming week, targeting a return against Manchester City.

His return couldn’t come at a better time for Spurs, given Perisic’s season-ending absence and Son’s participation in the Asian Cup games.

Furthermore, Tottenham has already strengthened their attacking line by securing Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig. This additional firepower hints at a proactive approach to fortify their squad.
