Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have reportedly been hot on the trail of Red Bull Salzburg’s rising star, Oscar Gloukh, in recent months.

Back in November, 90Min disclosed that both Spurs and the Gunners dispatched scouts to observe Gloukh and his teammates in action in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Salzburg’s manager, Gerhard Struber, in conversation with Sky Sports, lauded the 19-year-old, emphasizing his uniqueness on the pitch. “Oscar is a player who stands out technically,” he noted. “He possesses significant football intelligence, showcasing both scoring prowess and an unwavering work ethic.”

Struber’s appraisal underlined Gloukh’s appeal to top-tier clubs across Europe’s premier leagues, citing the blend of qualities that make him a sought-after prospect.

Highlighting Salzburg’s role as a launchpad for emerging talents, Struber highlighted the platform provided by the club. “Salzburg serves as a springboard for numerous young talents, offering them an opportunity to compete at a high level, including in the Champions League,” he explained. “This enticing environment attracts players seeking exposure to Europe’s elite teams, potentially paving the way for significant career advancements.”

The midfield seems to be a target area for both Tottenham and Arsenal in the ongoing January transfer window. Spurs face uncertainties with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Arsenal is assessing Thomas Partey’s limited appearances alongside injuries to other midfield options.

Gloukh, valued at £40 million, continues to flourish at Salzburg, establishing himself as a prominent talent with the potential for a substantial future transfer.

Having arrived from Maccabi Tel Aviv last January for £6 million, the 19-year-old has made significant strides, amassing 42 appearances, contributing eight goals and eight assists to his club’s statistics.

This season, Gloukh’s form has remained stellar with six goals and six assists in 25 appearances for Salzburg. Internationally, he boasts 11 caps for Israel, with three goals to his name, solidifying his status as a burgeoning talent to watch.
