“From Brazil – Tottenham Drops Bombshell, Hinting at a Major Investment in Wolves Player Coming Up!”

January 12, 2024

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ has unexpectedly captured the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, as per a surprising report from Brazil.

The midfielder, who joined Molineux from Flamengo a year ago, has become a notable presence at Wolves, amassing 31 appearances, with 20 coming in the current season.

According to Fla Web, João Gomes’ standout performances at Wolves have prompted Tottenham, under Ange Postecoglou’s management, to indicate that they are on the verge of “making an investment very soon” to secure the 22-year-old’s signature.

Despite Gomes’ contract with Wolves running until 2028, with an option for an additional year, the report suggests that Tottenham views him as a crucial figure under Gary O’Neil. However, Spurs are reportedly prepared to facilitate his transfer if certain conditions are met.

Fla Web indicates that Wolves would require an offer of at least €35m to approve Gomes’ sale, but it’s unclear whether Tottenham is willing to meet this valuation. Flamengo, Gomes’ former club, retains a percentage of the fee from his potential sale and closely monitors the situation.

It’s worth noting that other Brazilian outlets have echoed this report, citing Fla Web as the primary source. The progression of these claims remains uncertain, as such reports sometimes arise from intermediaries exploring potential deals.
