Tottenham has officially secured the signing of Radu Dragusin, putting an end to their protracted pursuit of the talented centre-back. Despite facing stiff competition, especially from Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, Spurs successfully closed the deal for the 21-year-old.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Dragusin will sport the coveted number 6 jersey for the Lilywhites, previously worn by Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez. Interestingly, Bayern Munich presented a tempting offer with a higher salary, but Dragusin opted for Tottenham, fueled by his childhood dream of gracing the Premier League.
However, Florin Manea, Dragusin’s agent, has left the door ajar for a potential future move to Bayern, maintaining a diplomatic stance. Yet, after the completion of the transfer, Manea takes a more controversial turn, describing Tottenham as a stepping stone in Dragusin’s career.
In an interview with Romanian outlet Digisport, Manea boldly stated his client’s high potential and envisioned him playing for Europe’s elite clubs. He remarked, “In three or four years, I see him at Real Madrid! We are only at the beginning of the road; we want him to reach the best clubs in the world. Bayern is among the biggest clubs, but his dream is Real or Barcelona.”
These statements from the agent have sparked controversy, with some deeming them disrespectful, given Dragusin’s recent high-profile move to Tottenham. Criticism has emerged on social media, with some fans suggesting that the player should consider changing his agent.
