“Tottenham Transfer Target Snubbed 5 Years Ago Breaks Silence on Past Rejection!”

January 13, 2024

Amidst transfer speculations linking 18-year-old Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji to Tottenham in the January window, the young talent has opened up about his previous encounter with the club. Bardghji, who had a trial with Spurs at the age of 13, showcased his skills with an impressive performance, netting three goals and providing two assists in a 6-1 victory over Ipswich. Despite this standout display, he wasn’t selected.

In an interview with The Athletic, Bardghji shared his gratitude for the valuable experience at Tottenham, emphasizing the exposure to football beyond Sweden and the insights gained by being part of a prestigious club.

Reflecting on his time, he said, “It was a really good experience, seeing the level and how football is outside Sweden, being at a big club like Tottenham and seeing how they work.”

While Bardghji’s contract with Copenhagen is set to expire on December 31, 2025, the Danish club seems uninterested in extending the deal. Instead, they are focused on securing a significant sale, either in the current January window or the upcoming summer transfer period.

With an impressive record of 11 goals in 30 appearances this season and a total of 71 first-team outings at just 18 years old, Bardghji is a highly-rated prospect. His goal-scoring prowess and versatility make him an attractive prospect, not only for Tottenham, guided by Ange Postecoglou, but also for other Premier League giants like Chelsea and Manchester United, both reportedly keen on acquiring his services. The race for Bardghji’s signature adds an intriguing twist to the transfer landscape.
