“He lacks a future at Tottenham” – Sky Sports reporter reveals significant development about “dynamic” star

Tottenham Hotspur’s right-back Djed Spence seems to have no future at the club, especially following his loan move to Genoa, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge. Spence, who spent the first half of the 2023/24 season at Leeds United, was recalled by Spurs in January and subsequently sent on loan to Genoa.

Despite showing promise in the Championship with Nottingham Forest during the 2021/22 season, Spence has struggled to establish himself at Tottenham since his move from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022. Despite hopes that Ange Postecoglou’s arrival as head coach would provide more opportunities, Spence faced tough competition from Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal, leading to his loan spells.

A lateral collateral ligament injury during his time at Leeds further hindered Spence’s progress, limiting him to just seven appearances. Now, on loan at Genoa until the end of the season as part of the deal for Radu Dragusin, Bridge suggests that unless circumstances change, Spence’s future at Tottenham appears bleak. Despite this, Bridge acknowledges Spence’s commendable effort to explore new opportunities, emphasizing that his move to Genoa reflects a proactive approach compared to waiting in London until summer.
