Kenny Miller has expressed that Lyndon Dykes would be “very interested” in joining Celtic this month if Brendan Rodgers made the call.

The Scotland international has been instrumental in helping Steve Clarke’s team secure a place in Euro 2024 and is expected to secure his place in the squad for the upcoming tournament in Germany. However, he has endured a challenging season with his current club Queens Park Rangers, who are currently embroiled in a battle for survival in the English Championship, sitting five points adrift of safety in the relegation zone.

Dykes has only managed to score five goals for QPR this season, leading to speculation that Celtic might consider recruiting the striker to provide competition for Kyogo Furuhashi in the starting lineup. During a discussion on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, a potential move for Dykes to Celtic was proposed, and Rangers legend Miller, who previously managed Dykes during his brief coaching spell at Livingston, surprisingly voiced his support for the transfer.

Miller remarked, “When you talk about a ‘plan B’, Brendan Rodgers wants to play a certain style of football. They are dedicated to it, and it’s not about resorting to a ‘throw the big guy up front’ approach, which goes against their usual game. For instance, Lyndon Dykes is quite different from Kyogo. He offers a different kind of signing, perhaps similar to what (Giorgos) Giakoumakis brought to them – an option with physicality who excelled and also scored numerous goals for Celtic. I believe that Lyndon, if given the opportunity, would be keenly interested in this move to challenge Kyogo.”
