January 18, 2024

Ange Postecoglou’s reshaping of the Tottenham squad for the second half of the season continues, with three more players set for new challenges as part of the club’s January upheaval.

Tottenham has been notably active in the ongoing transfer window, marked by the arrivals of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, along with the departure of several players, some of whom have been loaned out temporarily.

Two players have departed on loan, with left-back Sergio Reguilon joining Brentford for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old, who had been on loan at Manchester United during the first half of the season, concluded his stint there as the Old Trafford club terminated the agreement. Reguilon, who arrived at Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2020 and previously spent a season on loan at Atletico Madrid, has been lauded as a valuable addition by Brentford manager Thomas Frank, who praised the left-back’s offensive capabilities and experience.

Reguilon expressed his excitement about the move, signaling his eagerness for consistent playing time to further his career, and emphasized his commitment to contributing to the club’s objectives.

In parallel, defender Japhet Tanganga is set for a loan move to the Championship, joining Millwall after a disappointing spell at Augsburg, where he failed to make a single appearance. The 24-year-old, known for his versatility across the back four, is primed to bolster Millwall’s defensive options following his return from Germany.

Amidst these developments, young midfielder Alfie Devine has also embarked on a loan move, securing a temporary switch to Plymouth for the remainder of the campaign, signifying Tottenham’s commitment to providing their promising talents with valuable playing opportunities and developmental experiences.

Tottenham’s proactive approach to refining the squad composition and fostering the growth of their players underscores the club’s commitment to maximizing the potential and capabilities of their roster for a compelling second half of the season.
