“Shocking Revelation: Player Makes Bizarre Allegation – Claims Moyes’s Drastic Style Shift Forced him to Leave West Ham!”

January 18, 2024

West Ham United granted Thilo Kehrer a loan move to Monaco earlier in the January transfer window. The defender will play for the Ligue 1 outfit until the end of the season, with an obligation for Monaco to purchase him for approximately £10 million contingent upon his reaching a certain number of appearances.

Thilo Kehrer arrived at West Ham from Paris Saint-Germain for around £10 million in the summer of 2022 under the management of David Moyes. However, he struggled to make a lasting impression. Notable moments for Kehrer at West Ham include a substitute appearance in the Europa Conference League final last June. Nonetheless, it became apparent that he did not quite adapt to the intense pace and physicality of Premier League football.

The decision to move Kehrer to Monaco reflects a positive step for the club. However, remarks made by Kehrer regarding his exit from the London Stadium have raised eyebrows due to their baffling nature.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Kehrer suggested that his reduced playing time at West Ham was influenced by Moyes’s altered style of team selection and play for the season, leading to his decision to seek a fresh opportunity at Monaco. He emphasized being pleased with the prospect of joining AS Monaco and referenced constructive discussions with the club, emphasizing the appeal of the project to him.

This claim of a change in style by Moyes has sparked disbelief, as it is widely perceived that there has been no significant alteration in Moyes’s tactical approach at West Ham. The team’s established method of absorbing opponent pressure, maintaining a disciplined defensive shape, and seeking opportunities on the counter has remained consistent.

Should there have been any adjustments in playing style, it is deemed implausible that such changes would have directly impacted Kehrer’s involvement with the team. Consequently, it appears that Kehrer simply fell out of favor with Moyes at West Ham, leading to his departure.
