Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly prepared to facilitate Ivan Perisic’s loan move for the remainder of the season, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 34-year-old winger is eager to join his former club Hajduk Split on loan, and negotiations are progressing positively, with Romano stating that the deal is now in its final stages.

Perisic, formerly of Inter Milan, is enthusiastic about rejoining Hajduk Split to contribute to the club’s legacy, and Tottenham is inclined to grant him this opportunity.

“Ivan Perisic’s return to Hajduk Split is progressing well, now at the final stages! Perisic is keen on returning to make history at the club. Understand Tottenham are prepared to accept a loan move until the end of the season,” Romano expressed on X.

The Croatian international, capped 129 times, played a significant role for Tottenham last season, appearing in 44 matches across all competitions. However, injuries have limited his involvement this season.

Though the exact terms of the loan deal are undisclosed, it would enable Spurs to relieve themselves of Perisic’s hefty £180k-per-week wages.

Tottenham has been proactive this month, securing the loan signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and completing a permanent deal for Radu Dragusin from Genoa.

Additionally, they have allowed Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon, Alfie Devine, and Japhet Tanganga to depart on loan for the rest of the season.

Should Perisic depart, Spurs may seek to recruit one or two more players before the window closes. While the return of James Maddison from a lengthy injury lay-off will reinforce their midfield, a short-term acquisition of a quality attacking midfielder could further strengthen the squad.

Perisic has had a distinguished career, representing renowned clubs such as Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich (on loan). Approaching the latter stages of his career, a return to his homeland could serve as an apt conclusion to an illustrious tenure.
