Simon Jordan has criticized West Ham United fans, accusing them of harboring a “sense of entitlement” as he offers his perspective on recent calls for David Moyes’ dismissal at the London Stadium.

During West Ham’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United, a segment of fans at Bramall Lane expressed their discontent with Moyes, chanting ‘you don’t know what you’re doing.’ While some supporters have voiced frustration with Moyes’ tactical approach, Jordan acknowledges that, if in owner David Sullivan’s position, he would be “irritated” by recent fan reactions.

In his article for the Daily Mail on January 25, Jordan states, “A section of West Ham fans are not having David Moyes. They don’t like his style of play, they think he’s boring and too slow to make changes. If I was in owner David Sullivan’s position and believed in Moyes, I would be slightly irritated.”

He adds, “Fans seemingly want it all and have a sense of entitlement. They want a side who compete at the top of the league and compete in a way that engages and entrances. That is what football has created for itself. If you make it an entertainment business — which is what it is now — you’ve got to give fans what they want.”

Jordan acknowledges the dual nature of the argument, acknowledging Moyes’ tendency for delayed changes and a slower style of play. However, he highlights Moyes’ significant achievements, including securing a European trophy and maintaining a competitive league position and Europa League progress.

While acknowledging Moyes’ success, Jordan hints at potential board decisions if fan frustration with the defensive style persists. The end of the campaign might see a decision regarding Moyes’ tenure at West Ham.
