“Transfer Update: Fabrizio Romano Shatters Recent Rumors on Tottenham’s Chase for ‘Beast’ Player!”

January 25, 2024

Despite recent reports suggesting an imminent move for Antonin Nusa to Tottenham, Fabrizio Romano has contradicted these claims, emphasizing that significant work remains to finalize the deal.

Various outlets, including TEAMtalk and journalist Ben Jacobs, have hinted at Nusa’s potential transfer to Spurs, expressing confidence that the Norway international could become a Tottenham player by the week’s end. Jacobs even mentioned on the Last Word on Spurs podcast that negotiations were at an ‘advanced’ stage.

However, Romano has refuted these assertions, stating that the deal has not reached its final stages. He also reinforced information from other sources, highlighting that Nusa’s preference is to remain at Club Brugge on loan until the end of the season, even if a deal is struck.

In an interview with GiveMeSport regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of the winger, Romano stated, “So the conversation is ongoing with Club Brugge at the moment and is not yet at the final stage. Also because the player doesn’t want to leave in January, so the intention of the player and Club Brugge in this case, is to complete the season together and then let the player leave in the summer transfer window.”

Therefore, Tottenham’s plan involves securing the deal now but allowing Antonio Nusa to stay on loan at Brugge until the end of the season.
