Breaking: Bidding War Erupts for West Ham’s South American Ace! Last-Minute January Exit Imminent!

January 27, 2024

Premier League Brasil has reported that Brazilian defender Luizao may be leaving West Ham United during the January transfer window. The publication claims that the player has received two new loan proposals but West Ham has turned down offers from clubs in Portugal and Brazil interested in signing him.

Two teams in Portugal and several teams in Brazil have expressed interest in signing the 21-year-old Luizao, but West Ham has declined all offers. The English team seems uninterested in loaning him to Brazilian football or to any Portuguese teams. Botafogo, Cruzeiro, Fortaleza, and Bahia all tried to sign him, but were rejected.

Considering that Luizao has been limited to reserve matches since joining West Ham, it is peculiar that the club continues to employ his services. The 21-year-old has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season, primarily in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy. He has yet to feature for the first team under manager David Moyes, who may see him as a player for the future.

After coming up through the youth ranks at Sao Paulo, Luizao made the switch to West Ham a year ago but has not been given a chance in the first team. It is possible that Moyes wants him to further develop in youth football before being given a chance on the main stage. Currently, Moyes is relying on other defenders like Nayef Aguerd, Kurt Zouma, Konstantinos Mavropanos, and Angelo Ogbonna.
