Despite efforts to bolster David Moyes’ squad, the Hammers appear unlikely to secure another attacking addition before the window closes, marking a subdued market for the team.
Football Insider reports West Ham’s interest in Plymouth Argyle striker Morgan Whittaker, with Fulham and Brentford also eyeing the player. However, the Championship side is determined to retain Whittaker, and the potential cost in the late stages of the winter transfer window is estimated to be between £10m-£15m.
Additionally, The Evening Standard notes West Ham’s interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja, with Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers seeking a late loan deal for the 22-year-old.
With Michail Antonio facing a setback in his return from injury, Moyes feels the squad lacks attacking options. Despite the current challenges, the club seems open to waiting until the summer transfer window to secure a forward.
Paul Brown emphasizes that West Ham’s winter business may hinge on player sales, particularly mentioning Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals. Brown suggests that the club is eyeing the summer market for a striker, stating, “They would like to bring in another forward but haven’t found one yet that they believe is worth pushing the boat out on.”
In terms of outgoing transfers, West Ham has rejected a loan proposal from Fulham for Benrahma, who is set to join Lyon on a temporary deal with a £15m buy-out option. Fornals is reportedly attracting interest from Real Betis, and there’s a possibility of Maxwel Cornet moving to Crystal Palace.
