Three transfers Celtic could complete on January transfer deadline day

February 1, 2024

The January transfer window is coming to a close and it’s been a frustrating one for Celtic. Only Nicolas Kuhn has been brought in so far, and he’s a winger, not the priority position for manager Brendan Rodgers. The team still needs a striker and a left-back, especially with Kyogo Furuhashi and Greg Taylor both dealing with injuries.

Three potential incomings are being discussed. Adam Idah from Norwich City is close to a loan deal with Celtic, but some question whether he’s the level of quality Rodgers is looking for. Jeong Ho-yeon from FC Gwangju and Sergio Gomez from Manchester City are also potential targets for the midfield and left-back positions. However, it’s uncertain whether any of these deals will come to fruition before the transfer deadline.

Overall, it’s been a challenging transfer window for Celtic, and time is running out to make the necessary signings.
