During a talkSPORT broadcast on Sunday (25 February, 9:58am), Winter expressed his frustrations, saying, “The Premier League needs to get its act together until the independent panel decides on Everton’s actual penalty… Originally, many anticipated a six-point deduction, so the 10 points seemed overly harsh. The situation with Forest adds to the confusion. It seems quite unjust and casts a pall over the entire league, creating confusion at the bottom.”
Winter voiced his support for Everton in their struggle against the league’s decision. The timeline for the independent panel’s findings has been unclear, leaving fans in limbo well beyond the expected end-of-February announcement.
This delay keeps Everton in a precarious position. Without the deduction, they would be in contention for a spot in the top half of the table.
