West Ham United’s loanee, Said Benrahma, is thriving away from the Hammers during his loan spell with Lyon. Speaking through Olympique Et Lyonnais after Lyon’s tense 0-0 draw with Strasbourg in the French cup, which they eventually won 4-3 on penalties, Benrahma expressed his growing confidence and strength.
Despite the frustration of not finding the net during the match, Benrahma remains upbeat about his progress. Joining Lyon in January on loan after struggling to secure regular playing time under David Moyes at West Ham, Benrahma initially faced challenges but has since found his footing.
Reflecting on his recent performances, Benrahma stated, “I’m satisfied with reaching the semi-finals, although I should have been more clinical given the opportunities. But that’s how some nights unfold. I’m optimistic about Sunday’s match against Lens; I aim to make an impact.”
Benrahma emphasized his growing strength and confidence, attributing it to regular game time. He remarked, “I’m feeling much stronger now. It’s been a positive month since I last played before the Montpellier match. With each game, I’m gaining more confidence. Playing the full 90 minutes tonight after a while feels good.”
