Leicester City head coach Enzo Maresca stood by Wout Faes despite his error in Hull City’s opening goal during Saturday’s 2-2 draw, emphasizing the collective responsibility in such situations.
Faes lost possession outside the City penalty area, leading to Fabio Carvalho’s goal, but Maresca refused to pin the blame solely on the centre-back. He highlighted the team’s overall response, acknowledging their resilience in bouncing back from setbacks.
“We drew the game, and there are areas we could improve, certainly,” Maresca commented. “The mistake from Wout is part of our style of play. It’s not solely Wout’s fault; there were other factors at play.”
