West Ham United is reportedly keen on securing the services of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, as per Football Transfers.
The Hammers have emerged as front-runners for the 26-year-old’s signature, having previously engaged in discussions with Solanke’s representatives in the January transfer window.
As the summer transfer period approaches, West Ham appears eager to get ahead in the race for Solanke’s signature. It’s reported that David Moyes has already had conversations with Solanke’s family members following a recent Premier League game.
The East London club is believed to be ready to offer Solanke a lucrative contract worth £115,000 per week, a significant increase from his current £50,000 per week at Bournemouth, according to Spotrac.
Bournemouth has set a starting price of £60 million for Solanke, though a bid of £45 million might be considered sufficient.
Solanke’s exceptional form this season, with 16 goals across all competitions and 14 in the Premier League alone, puts him in the spotlight, not just for club interest but possibly for England’s Euro 2024 squad. His performance places him among the top scorers in the league, matching West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.
Having only scored a maximum of six Premier League goals in previous seasons, Solanke’s current run is noteworthy and could catch the attention of England’s manager Gareth Southgate, especially considering Solanke’s previous single cap for the national team in 2017.
