Leeds United is said to be seeking £12.8 million for the potential sale of Max Wöber once his loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach concludes.
In what could be a profitable turn of events for Leeds, several loaned-out players may bring in substantial funds during the upcoming summer transfer window, having departed for top-flight clubs in 2023 following the team’s relegation.
Max Wöber made his move to the Bundesliga in Germany by joining Borussia Monchengladbach, managed by Daniel Farke, for the season.
According to a report from SportBild (via Sport Witness), Wöber’s prospects of signing a permanent deal with Monchengladbach have taken a significant hit. The club’s focus on developing homegrown talent might see Wöber excluded from their long-term plans.
Leeds is reportedly seeking a fee of around €15 million (£12.8 million) for Wöber’s departure in the upcoming transfer window.
Although Leeds is eyeing a profitable deal, Monchengladbach may not be very enthusiastic about meeting the asking price, given their current position in the Bundesliga standings and defensive struggles.
Having signed the Austrian international in the January 2023 transfer window from Red Bull Salzburg, Leeds initially paid approximately £10 million for the defender. If the reported fee is met, the club stands to make a notable profit on the player.
