Who’s fooling who? Kris Boyd mercilessly slams Celtic for shocking Rodgers announcement!

March 30, 2024

Kris Boyd expresses strong disagreement with Celtic’s response to Brendan Rodgers’ touchline ban imposed by the SFA. Out of disappointment, the Celtic manager will watch the upcoming game against Livingston from the stands following remarks made after the team’s defeat to Hearts on March 3.

The SFA charged Rodgers with a breach of Rule 72, resulting in a two-match touchline ban, with one game suspended pending his good conduct until the end of the season—an action Boyd finds to be lenient. Reacting to Celtic’s statement expressing disappointment with the punishment, Boyd raises his eyebrows at what he perceives as a lack of genuine concern from the club.

Boyd sharply criticizes the decision, deeming it weak, especially given Rodgers’ remarks against VAR John Beaton as “incompetent.” The light penalty of only one immediate ban, with another suspended, provokes Boyd to question the reaction of Scotland’s top referees upon hearing the news. As tomorrow’s game at Livingston approaches, with referee Don Robertson officiating once more, Boyd’s critical stance remains unchanged.
