Hull City’s midfielder, Jean Michael Seri, sheds light on the strategies his team plans to employ to unsettle Leeds United in their upcoming clash on Monday.

Leeds United, on a 15-game unbeaten streak in the league, are hosting Hull at Elland Road after a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Watford. Despite injuries plaguing the Whites, they managed to salvage a point with goals from Crysencio Summerville and Mateo Joseph. Meanwhile, Hull suffered a setback with a 2-0 defeat to Stoke City, making Monday’s match crucial for a bounce-back performance.

Seri acknowledged the threat posed by Leeds, emphasizing the importance of ball retention and proactive play. “They have quality players who capitalize on opponents’ mistakes. To avoid being punished, we need to focus on ball possession, movement, and quick, decisive plays. Leeds won’t resort to long balls; they prefer a possession-based game. Our response to the Stoke defeat should be strong. We have to study their game, disrupt their rhythm, and make them uncomfortable on the field,” Seri stated in an interview with Hull Live.

Anticipating a strong attacking start from Leeds, Seri emphasized the need to seize control early on. “Against an aggressive team, dominating possession and creating opportunities are key to success. By executing a sound passing game and staying composed, we can thwart their plans and limit their scoring chances. Winning against Leeds requires courage in play and a disciplined approach to retain possession. Denying them opportunities to score is our primary objective,” Seri concluded.
