In light of the situation, Livingston is contemplating the possibility of implementing a ban on the display of ‘banners and flags’ inside the Tony Macaroni Arena, following the unauthorized showcasing of banners by Celtic supporters. The club revealed that discussions are underway with external partners involved in managing the stadium to investigate the lapses that led to these incidents.

The official statement released by Livingston, available on the club’s website, outlined the issues that surfaced before and during the match with Celtic. Prior to the game, a supporters’ group known as ‘The Green Brigade’ made a request for a Tifo display in all three stands designated for Celtic fans, along with a banner placement along the front of the East Stand. Despite the club’s denial of the banner request, it was still brought into the stadium through an emergency gate, deviating from the agreed-upon procedures established during the pre-match meeting.

The statement further detailed the sequence of events, mentioning another attempt by the visiting supporters group to push for a Tifo display in all three stands shortly before kickoff, despite the prior refusal. This unauthorized action was carried out against the club and police instructions.
