James Bisgrove is adamant that under his leadership, Rangers will never allow Celtic to claim the entire Broomloan Stand again.

The chief executive of the Gers expressed his satisfaction with the reintroduction of away fans at Scotland’s premier football event following the recent confirmation that both Rangers and Celtic will each receive a five percent allocation at Ibrox and Celtic Park from the next season onwards. While many supporters had hoped for a return to the traditional 7,000 away allocation, Bisgrove has firmly stated that this will not come to fruition. Instead, he believes that the agreed compromise of approximately 2,500 visiting fans is the most suitable arrangement.

In a statement featured in the Rangers vs Celtic programme, Bisgrove addressed the recent announcement by the SPFL regarding the allocation changes for the upcoming season. He emphasized the importance of having away supporters present at all matches, acknowledging that some fans may be disappointed by the adjustment. The club is committed to prioritizing those affected by this decision, ensuring they have priority access to next season’s Old Firm fixtures and maintaining direct communication with them.

Bisgrove also disclosed that the upcoming CEO forum scheduled for April 16 at Edmiston House will include discussions on this topic. While acknowledging the frustration that some supporters may feel, the club stands by its belief that the revised allocation is the most appropriate course of action. He made it unequivocally clear that the club’s leadership will never entertain the idea of reverting to the full Broomloan Stand away allocation and deems the current European-style allocations as the preferred approach.
