Fabrizio Romano has updated the situation regarding the future of Kalvin Phillips, the West Ham loanee drawing interest from Leeds United and Fulham.

There have been whispers suggesting a potential reunion for Phillips with Leeds United if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

“This season hasn’t been smooth sailing for Kalvin Phillips, who struggled for minutes at Manchester City and is yet to make a mark at West Ham,” Romano mentioned in his recent Daily Briefing column.

“At present, it seems unlikely that Phillips will make his West Ham move permanent. There are other potential options on the horizon.”

Romano also stresses that reports linking Phillips to Leeds and Fulham should be taken with a grain of salt, emphasizing that nothing is set in stone yet.

“It’s premature to discuss a transfer for Phillips in April or May. Leeds’ primary focus is currently on the Championship as they push for promotion to the Premier League.”

Phillips’ value remains high as Leeds United mull over a potential move for their former star.

Having proven his worth in the Premier League with Leeds and on the international stage with England, Phillips’ lack of opportunities under Pep Guardiola suggests a departure from Manchester City is inevitable.
