“Breaking News: Celtic Eye Sensational Replacement for Joe Hart Who’s Desperate to Leave His Current Club NOW!”

April 10, 2024

Steering clear of the chaos surrounding the Glasgow Derby, the focus now shifts to some intriguing transfer news as Celtic gears up for the upcoming season.

While Brendan Rodgers remains engrossed in the title chase, the club is discreetly making moves behind the scenes to bolster its squad for the next campaign.

Identifying key areas requiring attention, Rodgers is keen on securing quality competition for Greg Taylor and a formidable partner for Cameron Carter-Vickers. The potential signing of Adam Idah or the acquisition of another striker is being considered, alongside scouting for a viable replacement for the rumored departing Matt O’Riley.

However, the utmost priority lies in finding a successor for Joe Hart following his retirement announcement at the close of the current season.

In a bid to fortify their goalkeeping department, Celtic has set its sights on Michael Zetterer from the German Bundesliga outfit, Werder Bremen, as per reports from Bild.

Zetterer, 28, is enjoying a standout season, having firmly entrenched himself as the go-to goalkeeper for Werder Bremen, recording commendable performances with five clean sheets in 21 appearances. Despite excelling in his role, contract negotiations seem to hit a roadblock.

Werder Bremen is eager to extend Zetterer’s contract, which expires next summer. However, the player, who currently occupies the backup role, is reluctant to commit to a new deal as he aspires for a starting position. Consequently, he is now exploring his options in the transfer market.

Celtic has been closely monitoring Zetterer, with the player’s attributes aligning well with the club’s requirements. Zetterer boasts a successful track record, having clinched titles with his former clubs SpVgg Unterhaching and Werder Bremen reserves.

Having been associated with Werder Bremen for a decade since his €100,000 (£85,570) transfer in 2015, Zetterer is now eyeing a significant leap in his career by seeking a starting role, a prospect that Celtic could provide him with.
