Rangers EXPLODE on SPFL and demand REVENGE against ‘careless and sloppy’ Dundee

April 10, 2024

Rangers have strongly criticized Dundee today, accusing them of “negligence and unprofessionalism” after their cinch Premiership match at Dens Park was postponed for a second time. The Ibrox club had been scheduled to play their game in hand at Tayside tonight, but a 3.30pm pitch inspection rendered the surface unplayable once more, leading to the cancellation.

The decision has left Rangers frustrated, as a win would have propelled them two points ahead of Celtic at the top of the table. In response, Rangers have reached out to the SPFL urging them to take action against Dundee for their repeated infractions.

In a statement, Rangers expressed their disappointment: “Rangers has communicated with the SPFL to convey its stance following today’s additional postponement of the Dundee Scottish Premiership fixture. The ongoing negligence and unprofessional conduct exhibited by Dundee Football Club, where they have consistently flouted SPFL regulations, continues to harm the integrity of the top-tier professional league in the nation.”

“As the recent game was set to be televised by Sky Sports and had garnered record TV viewership, this situation is highly embarrassing and entirely avoidable. Rangers expects the SPFL to take appropriate and resolute measures in line with its regulations, and the club will persist in voicing its concerns to the governing body with utmost insistence.”

“The club has consistently proposed solutions to the SPFL, which have not been heeded. It has once again suggested a plan for organizing the rescheduled fixture and is awaiting feedback from the SPFL. As of now, the rescheduled match is slated for Wednesday, April 17 at 8pm. We believe that both Dundee and the SPFL have mishandled this situation from the outset.”

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies once more to our loyal supporters, nearly 4000 of whom were anticipating tonight’s match. Following the previous postponement last month, which caused significant inconvenience and financial loss to our fans, Dundee FC’s conduct in allowing this situation to recur is completely unacceptable and disrespectful.”
