In a playful prank, Taylor informed Phillips that he managed to snag an exclusive interview with the famous band Green Day for their show. However, instead of hearing from the entire band, Phillips was surprised to hear a congratulatory message from Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, who happens to be a devoted Everton fan. The message was filled with warm regards for the Toffees’ triumph in the derby.
Taking the joke a step further, Taylor took to social media to share a video of Phillips’s surprised reaction along with a humorous caption, playfully teasing his colleague for being on the receiving end of some “Kopite revenge” after years of post-derby day banter.
