Leicester City ruthlessly mocks Leeds United on social media following epic Premier League promotion!

On a Friday night, Leeds made the trip to Queens Park Rangers, fully aware that a loss would seal Leicester’s promotion to the top flight next season. However, a crushing defeat unfolded as QPR dominated the match and emerged as 4-0 victors.

As expected, social media buzzed with jibes directed at Leeds in the aftermath of this significant setback. Despite Daniel Farke’s team holding onto second place, their lead over Ipswich Town stands at a mere point, with the latter having two games in hand.

Back in February, such a turn of events seemed improbable. Leeds had triumphed over Leicester with a 3-1 victory at Elland Road, triggering scenes of elation as fans celebrated into the night.

A clip went viral of Elland Road supporters joyously chanting the Kaiser Chiefs’ hit “I Predict A Riot,” a customary ritual after home victories. Leicester wasted no time in referencing this moment during their revelry, sharing the song title on their official channels.

With just one regular-season fixture left, Leeds will host Southampton on Saturday, May 4. Should Ipswich secure wins in their upcoming matches, automatic promotion might slip out of Leeds’ grasp by the time Russell Martin’s Saints visit West Yorkshire.

Reflecting on the QPR loss, Farke lamented, “We were well below our standards. We didn’t display the quality needed to compete for points. Our shaky start and our vulnerability on set-pieces were the reasons behind our 4-0 defeat.”
