Preston North End will attempt to thwart Leicester City’s bid for the Championship title as they clash at Deepdale on Monday. The Lilywhites are set to host Enzo Maresca’s side, who secured their immediate promotion back to the Premier League following Leeds United’s 4-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers. With Leicester now eyeing the league title, PNE, on the other hand, is striving to bounce back from a run of three consecutive defeats and conclude the season on a positive note.

Players Out for Preston North End:

• Ali McCann: The midfielder sustained a thigh injury during the win against Huddersfield Town and is unlikely to feature again this season.
• Brad Potts: Dealing with a series of injuries towards the end of the season, Potts suffered another hamstring setback before the March international break and has not played since. It is doubtful he will participate in the final two games.
• Ben Whiteman: Suffered an ankle injury in the match against Stoke City in early March and has been sidelined since. Manager Ryan Lowe does not anticipate his return for the matches against Leicester or West Brom.

According to Ryan Lowe, “Whitey won’t be anywhere near… Pottsy is on the grass, but there is no need to push them through – just in case they get re-injured. Ali McCann is the same, so the likelihood of them missing the next two games is very high. Pottsy might be back for a couple of days training, towards the back end, but it’s a risk element then isn’t it? Other than that, the squad will be the squad we’ve been going with for a little while.”

Players Available for Leicester City:

• Ricardo Pereira: Expected to be fit for the game against PNE after missing the recent match against West Brom and coming off early against Southampton due to an issue.
• Dennis Praet: Cleared to play after recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the Southampton match.
• Marc Albrighton: Despite not featuring since February due to a minor injury, Albrighton is reportedly fit and available for selection.

As per Enzo Maresca’s comments on his squad, “They are all available… Even Marc Albrighton, who was the only one with some problems, is back. Kasey (McAteer) is finally back. We gave him some minutes the other day. So we’re good for the last two games.”
