Coventry City was dealt another blow as news emerged that Ben Sheaf picked up a muscle injury, sidelining him for the match against Blackburn Rovers and casting doubt on his availability for the team’s final two fixtures of the season.

In a post-match update following the goalless draw at Ewood Park, manager Mark Robins disclosed that the talented midfielder was grappling with a “muscle issue.” He mentioned, “He attempted to train on Friday but couldn’t push through, so we had to rule him out.”

When pressed for specifics on the affected muscle, Robins opted to keep the details under wraps, hinting at a more significant setback. “It’s a muscle in his body,” he shared. “I’ll reveal more when necessary. At the moment, he’s facing some hardships.”

Additionally, centre-back Luis Binks was conspicuously absent from the matchday squad due to an ongoing Achilles problem. Robins explained, “Binksy is still sidelined with his Achilles issue. We’re unable to conduct scans at present, so we’re managing the symptoms and monitoring his progress. It’s clear that both he and Ben were dealing with challenges.”

Following Liam Kitching’s straight red card in the recent draw, resulting in a three-match ban, Robins finds himself with just two available senior centre-backs in Bobby Thomas and Joel Laibeaudiere. However, in a pinch, left-back Jake Bidwell could deputize if needed. Moreover, the squad is currently without midfielder Victor Torp, who sustained a stomach strain during the FA Cup semi-final last week.
