Coventry City is actively seeking a new centre-back this summer following Luis Binks’ return to Bologna after a mixed season-long loan. Although his future with Coventry remains uncertain, given his limited appearances—totaling 19 starts and four substitute outings across all competitions—Binks remains positive and determined.
Transitioning from a back five to a four just before Christmas initially constrained his playing time, until an opportunity arose during Liam Kitching’s suspension over the festive period.
Reflecting on heart-to-heart discussions with Robins, Binks shared, “I expressed my eagerness to play, and the manager advised me to be patient, echoing his words at the start of the season. Eventually, I got a chance against Swansea, which I felt I handled decently, considering my time away from the pitch.”
Adapting to the shift in formation was a challenge, but Binks acknowledged the team’s success made it difficult for alterations. Despite the hurdles, he remains resolute about his goal to contribute on the field and help secure points for the team.
While the option to return to Italy could have been considered, Binks asserted his commitment to continuing his journey in England. Enthralled by the vibrant football culture in English stadiums, he emphasized his desire to return and showcase his skills on familiar grounds.
