“As it stands,” Smyth cautioned, “there’s nothing close between Connor Roberts and Leeds United. Things in the transfer window are fluid, subject to change.”
Despite the current stalemate, Roberts has expressed a desire to remain with Leeds, highlighting his commitment: “It’s something I couldn’t turn down. Football’s a funny game, so I’ll be doing my very best to make a good impression on and off the pitch.”
Moreover, signs from last season under Daniel Farke at Burnley indicate a mutual admiration, hinting at the potential for a future deal. While uncertainty looms, Roberts’ connection with Leeds and managerial endorsement may yet see this move materialize.
