Derby County Braces for Devastating Hit as Leicester City Enters High-Stakes Negotiations

Derby County’s pursuit of Mathew Ryan appears to be faltering as negotiations with Leicester City for Daniel Iversen progress. Reports indicate that Ryan’s move to the Midlands is increasingly unlikely, and Derby are instead focusing on securing Iversen, Leicester’s Danish backup keeper. This comes after the departure of Joe Wildsmith, who joined West Bromwich Albion. Currently, Josh Vickers remains Derby’s only first-team goalkeeper.

Ryan, previously AZ Alkmaar’s primary keeper, was initially a target for Derby. However, with Ryan unlikely to join, Derby manager Paul Warne is looking to Iversen, who has prior experience with Warne during a loan spell at Rotherham United and a solid record from his recent loan at Stoke City.

Despite missing out on Ryan, Derby fans can find solace in the imminent signing of midfielder Ebou Adams from Cardiff City.
