Allan Campbell has been informed that he does not have a future at Luton Town and is free to leave the club this summer.
The Scottish international has fallen out of favor at Kenilworth Road and had a challenging loan spell at Millwall last season, where he made only 12 appearances in the English Championship. Now back with the Hatters, head coach Rob Edwards has decided that the former Motherwell star is no longer needed and has encouraged the 26-year-old to revive his career elsewhere.
Commenting on Campbell’s situation, Edwards said: “Al will be moving on, but for now, he’s training with us, and that’s great because we love having him around. Allan is an amazing professional and a fantastic person, but he needs to get his career back on track and play regularly. These decisions are tough. We strive to handle them with respect and honesty. We always prioritize the club’s best interests and ensure there’s a human side to our approach. Players need to play and understand their status, so it’s crucial I have these candid conversations with them.”
Campbell initially made a significant impact at Luton after joining from Fir Park in 2021, quickly becoming a regular starter in his first season. He played a crucial role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League but found himself sidelined last year. His loan move to Millwall didn’t pan out, and now Campbell is seeking a new beginning elsewhere.
