Allan Campbell has been informed that he no longer has a future at Luton Town and is free to seek a new club this summer.
The Scottish international has fallen out of favor at Kenilworth Road and struggled during his loan spell at Millwall last season, where he made only 12 appearances in the English Championship. Returning to the Hatters, head coach Rob Edwards has decided the former Motherwell star is no longer part of his plans and encouraged the 26-year-old to revive his career elsewhere.
When questioned about Campbell’s future, Edwards said: “Al will be moving on, but for now, he’s training with us, which is great because we enjoy having him around. Allan’s a fantastic professional and a great person, but he needs to get his career back on track and start playing regularly again. These are tough decisions. We always strive to handle them respectfully and honestly. Our priority is the club’s best interests, but we also consider the human aspect. Players want to play and need clarity about their situation, so it’s crucial I have these honest conversations with them.”
Campbell initially made a significant impact at Luton after joining from Fir Park in 2021, becoming a key player in his first season. He played a vital role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League but found himself sidelined last year. His loan stint at Millwall was unsuccessful, and now Campbell is looking for a fresh start elsewhere.
