Manchester United has officially confirmed the signing of forward Elisabeth Terland from Brighton and Hove Albion. Last month, The Peoples Person reported that United was optimistic about securing a deal for Terland, who recently left the Seagulls after her contract expired.

Last season, Terland was Brighton’s top scorer, netting 15 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions. This included scoring the opener in a 2-2 draw against United in the Women’s Super League. Over her two seasons in the WSL, she made 39 appearances and scored 20 goals for Brighton.

Internationally, Terland debuted for Norway in 2021 and has since earned 32 caps, scoring nine goals.

Expressing her excitement about the transfer, Terland said, “I’m so honored to sign for Manchester United and cannot wait to join up with the team. Having experienced their excellent fans from the opposing side, I’m really looking forward to having them in my corner this season.”

United women’s team head coach Marc Skinner commented, “Elisabeth is a young player who will bring a fresh dynamic and energy to our team. We are delighted she has chosen to become part of our Manchester United family and look forward to integrating her into our playing squad.”

Terland has signed a contract with United that runs until the end of the 2025/26 season, with an option to extend her stay by an additional 12 months. She is the third new arrival at United this season, following the signings of Dutch defender Dominique Janssen and forward Melvine Malard.
