Derby County has secured the loan signing of Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh for the upcoming season.

At just 19 years old, Ozoh has already made a notable impact at Crystal Palace, featuring in several Premier League matches. One of his significant appearances included a substitution against Manchester City, where he contributed to Palace’s impressive comeback from 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

With Crystal Palace boasting a deep midfield roster, the decision to loan Ozoh to Derby County aims to further his development.

Ozoh, originally from Valencia, joins a list of new additions to Paul Warne’s squad this summer, including Ebou Adams, Ben Osborn, and Kenzo Goudmijn.

In an interview with RamsTV, Ozoh shared his excitement about joining Derby County. “It’s a great training ground with a lot of pitches, and I’m just happy to be here,” he said. On choosing Derby over other Championship clubs, he remarked, “It’s a big club with a rich history, and I felt it was the best place to kickstart my career.”

Ozoh, who made nine Premier League appearances for Palace last season, is eager to make an impression at Derby. When asked what fans can expect from him, he responded, “Passion, hunger, big tackles, and hopefully getting the crowd going. They’ll see when I step on the pitch that I play for the badge.”

With Ozoh being the sixth summer signing, Derby County is closing in on completing their squad for the season. However, there is still work to be done, with the team looking to strengthen a few key positions in the coming weeks. A new goalkeeper is a top priority, with reports suggesting a deal for Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is close. Additionally, the club is considering adding another striker, an attacking midfielder, a winger, and a centre-back.
